Whoa! What a day! I sure could use some stress relief.

Go home, sit down, relax…Wait I still have so much I want to do or have to do.

Does this sound familiar?? Are we always running in six different directions? I know I am. This full tilt life style is the #1 cause of stress and certainly could be blamed for the stress related illnesses we experience like headaches, backaches and down right irritability.

How many of us really know stress management techniques? Or, for that matter, know how and when to use them? If we can’t sit down long enough to relax how else can we reduce our stress?

Making sure we eat right…What’s that you say? What do we mean by eating right?

How about essential minerals, vitamins, antioxidant fruits and veggies? The American Dietetic Assoc says “More Matters”. More fruits and veggies, that’s what matters. Not just 5, 7 or 9 anymore but as many fruits and veggies we can get in a day starting with breakfast and ending with supper. Even our snacks should be fruit or veggies based.

Whoa, you say! I don’t even like to eat all those fruits and veggies let alone any other really healthy foods. So what can I do?

You can drink your insanely healthy vitamins and minerals in your Vemma and Verve. Yes, 12 essential antioxidant vitamins and over 65 plant-sourced, major, trace & ultra-trace ionic minerals; enough to make even the most ardent Vegetarian sing for joy.

Well…there you have it my friends just one more great, easy, tip on how to deal with stress by drinking a great stress relief product.

Stressed? Desserts anyone??? Why does eating sweets satisfy us and sometimes even relieve tired achy muscles and stress headaches, and give us a short boost of energy? Eating in general and eating foods or desserts high in sugar content is sometimes a stress management technique we use to deal with stress.

When we take in high amounts of sugar, it raises blood glucose levels in the brain which helps reduce stress and give us that energy boost we’re looking for. But it’s quick, short lasting and usually makes us crash in a short time.

I know when I feel tired or stressed, instead of filling myself with short acting sugar boosters I choose to drink something nutritious. I don’t always eat right, getting my “More Matters fruits and veggies” in a day so I drink my Vemma. I get all my vitamins, essential minerals , mangosteen fruit juice and aloe and decaf green tea; and the vitamin and mineral content is equal to a whole shopping cart full of groceries. How’s that for a stress relief product and how to deal with stress?

Folks, don’t underestimate the power of good nutrition to relieve stress and get you back on track.

Thank you for considering what stresses you out and how you deal with it.

We all succumb to the pressures of stress. Whether you’re an entrepreneur who is burning on both ends of the candle or an overworked employee, stress can get the better of you if you don’t implement stress relief techniques into your daily repertoire.

When you feel like you’re running on overdrive you’ve got to stop, take a look and take inventory of what you are doing so that you can prioritize and get back on the right track.

None of us are immune to stress, but we sure can relieve and allieviate it in a healthy way.

5 Stress Relief Techniques to put your mind, body, and soul back at ease

1) Stick to a Schedule:

I am the biggest fan on spontaneity and unstructured time. However, I came to the realization that if I don’t schedule time to do somehting, it just normally won’t get done. Use paper or an electronic calendar you can sync with your iphone or blackberry. Whatever suits your fancy. Just schedule it in and stick to it.

When you do things as they come without having a structure or priorities, you tend to do the things that are NOT as important and sacrifice time you could use to do more productive things. You then feel guilty about being unproductive. Its a vicious cycle. Get out that planner or your Google Calendar and use it! I love Google Calendar, by the way.

2) Set Deadlines:

Set goals and deadlines to have accomplished your tasks. It’s the same as setting a schedule here, if it doesn’t have a deadline, you’ll drag it on out. And lets not get into the whole procrastination thing. Setting dealdlines will help you hold yourself accountable and relieve some stress!

3) Eat Well and Supplement:

This is so simple, yet so many of us, myself included, don’t always eat the healthiest foods. You can not work or perform well if you are not feeding your body the nutrients it deserves and requires for optimal performance. And even when you do eat “healthy” you are not getting all of the body’s required minerals, vitamins and building blocks to perfom optimally. We recommend the Vemma multi-vitamin mineral supplement to increase your alertness and alleviate stress as well.

4) Get Sleep:

Did you know our bodies are designed to rest twice per any 24 hour period? Our bodies are designed to get 8 hours of sleep and a short nap during the day. What most of us do, however, is we react against our bodies needs. I know I do, and this is something that I am making a conscoius effort to improve. You and I will take stimulants like Coffee, Coke or Diet coke to give ourselves a boost of energy when our bodies are tired. Our bodies are telling us “hey there I need a break” or “hey I need some shut-eye,” but we work against it. Listen to your body’s needs. If not this is more room for stress and tension to take control of your every muscle.

5) Take Time to Play:

Your body and mind cannot concentrate on work all the time (and believe you me…I USED to be the biggest workoholic). Take 30 minute breaks in between knocking out those “to dos.” When you take breaks you refresh your mind and energy and it increases your concentration level when you do go back to work.

Read a book, sing, go for a walk. I would say smoke a cigarette but common, this is the Healthy Stress Relief Blog! lol And Patricia Padgett would have to put you in her Tobacco Cessation class.
