Stressed? Desserts anyone???

Stressed? Desserts anyone??? Why does eating sweets satisfy us and sometimes even relieve tired achy muscles and stress headaches, and give us a short boost of energy? Eating in general and eating foods or desserts high in sugar content is sometimes a stress management technique we use to deal with stress.

When we take in high amounts of sugar, it raises blood glucose levels in the brain which helps reduce stress and give us that energy boost we’re looking for. But it’s quick, short lasting and usually makes us crash in a short time.

I know when I feel tired or stressed, instead of filling myself with short acting sugar boosters I choose to drink something nutritious.  I don’t always eat right, getting my “More Matters fruits and veggies” in a day so I drink my Vemma. I get all my vitamins, essential minerals , mangosteen fruit juice and aloe and decaf  green tea;  and the vitamin and mineral content is equal to a whole shopping cart full of groceries.  How’s that for a stress relief product and how to deal with stress?

Folks, don’t underestimate the power of good nutrition to relieve stress and get you back on track.

Thank you for considering what stresses you out and how you deal with it.
